Dr. Rapp is co-director of the Virginia Urology Center for Continence and Pelvic Floor Prolapse. Dr. Rapp received his undergraduate training at The University of Virginia and his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his urology residency at the University of Chicago. Dr. Rapp completed fellowship training at The Virginia Mason Medical Center in incontinence and pelvic floor prolapse. Dr. Rapp is board certified in urology by the American Board of Urology.

Dr. Rapp is an active researcher and has an academic appointment as clinical instructor at the Medical College of Virginia. His research has focused on novel treatments for incontinence and prolapse, including the use of botulinum toxin injections for overactive bladder. He has published over 70 scientific articles and chapters and presented at numerous national and international meetings. He has received numerous awards for his research and clinical work and been invited to serve as a panelist for the Society of Female Urology’s national meeting.

Dr. Rapp’s clinical and research interests include the advanced surgical treatments of both female and male incontinence, as well as pelvic floor prolapse.  Dr. Rapp is trained to perform advanced pelvic prolapse reconstruction using the Da Vinci robot. Dr. Rapp also specializes in urethral reconstruction for urethral stricture disease and novel treatments for incontinence following prostatectomy, including the male sling.
